Celebrating the Classic GI Joe Episode: ‘Cobra Claws Are Coming to Town’

Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at one of my favorite GI Joe episodes “Cobra Claws Are Coming to Town”. Everything about this episode is so great and I don’t only watch it at Christmas time. It starts out with Firefly planting a mini Cobra army in the children’s Christmas toy drive trailer. I love the white trailer in this episode and that they are using the Awe Striker in a snow storm to pull it.

Then there is an unlikely crew that gets left to protect the base for the holiday. Duke is at the head of the table as Roadblock serves up dinner and Junkyard gives up a turkey leg to be by Mutts side as he reminisces about past Christmas. Shipwreck gets frisky with a side of beef and helps free his Joe pals, Wild Bill, Covergirl, Dusty, Mutt, Roadblock, Tripwire, and Blowtorch. We end up with Joes using Cobra vehicles to battle Cobra in the stolen Joe vehicles along with a giant Polly and a Christmas miracle GI Joe saves the day. There are some blemishes as with many of the episodes, but I think that adds to my love for this episode and GI Joe as a whole.
